Welcome to Choons! Our community is built around a shared love of karaoke, music, and supporting each other. These Community Guidelines help ensure Choons remains a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable space for everyone.

By using Choons, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination.

Content Standards

Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on Choons:

Harassment & Hate Speech

  • Bullying, intimidation, or targeting individuals
  • Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Doxxing or sharing others' private information
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns

Sexual & Explicit Content

  • Nudity or sexually explicit material
  • Sexual solicitation or suggestive content involving minors
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery

Violence & Threats

  • Threats of violence or physical harm
  • Content glorifying violence or self-harm
  • Graphic or gratuitous violent imagery
  • Instructions for weapons or dangerous activities

Illegal Activity

  • Content promoting illegal activities
  • Drug sales or promotion of illegal substances
  • Fraud, scams, or deceptive practices
  • Copyright infringement

Spam & Manipulation

  • Spam, repetitive posting, or platform manipulation
  • Fake accounts or impersonation
  • Artificially inflating engagement metrics
  • Misleading or deceptive content

User-Generated Content

Choons allows users to share posts, comments, photos, and videos. When you share content, you are responsible for ensuring it complies with these guidelines.

What We Expect

  • Be Authentic: Share genuine moments and experiences
  • Be Respectful: Consider how your content affects others
  • Be Appropriate: Keep content suitable for a general audience
  • Give Credit: Respect intellectual property and give credit where due

Content Moderation

We use a combination of automated systems and human review to enforce these guidelines:

  • Profanity Filtering: Automatic detection and filtering of inappropriate language
  • User Reports: Community-driven flagging of problematic content
  • Admin Review: Our team reviews reports and takes action within 24 hours

Your Controls

You have tools to customize your experience:

  • Block Users: Prevent specific users from interacting with you
  • Hide Posts: Hide content from users without blocking them
  • Hide Offensive Content: Enable profanity filtering in your feed
  • Report Content: Flag content that violates these guidelines

Reporting & Enforcement

How to Report

If you encounter content that violates these guidelines:

  1. Tap the "..." menu on any post, comment, or profile
  2. Select "Report"
  3. Choose the reason that best describes the violation
  4. Add additional details if needed

All reports are confidential. We never reveal who reported content.

What Happens Next

  1. Review: Our team reviews the report within 24 hours
  2. Action: If a violation is confirmed, we take appropriate action
  3. Notification: The reporting user may receive an update (without revealing their identity)

Enforcement Actions

Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may:

  • Remove Content: Delete the offending post, comment, or media
  • Issue Warnings: Notify the user about the violation
  • Temporary Suspension: Restrict account access for a period
  • Permanent Ban: Terminate the account for severe or repeated violations

We reserve the right to remove any content or terminate any account at our sole discretion.

Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you can appeal by contacting us at contact@hairycandy.com. Please include:

  • Your account email
  • Description of the content or action in question
  • Why you believe the decision was incorrect

We aim to respond to appeals within 5 business days.

Safety Tips

Protect Your Privacy

  • Don't share personal information (address, phone number, financial info) publicly
  • Be cautious about sharing your location in posts
  • Review your privacy settings regularly

Stay Safe at Events

  • Only attend events at verified venues
  • Trust your instincts—if something feels wrong, leave
  • Report any concerning behavior to event hosts or venue staff

Online Interactions

  • Be wary of users who quickly ask for personal information
  • Don't click suspicious links
  • Report any harassment or unwanted contact immediately
